Fifteen years ago, we had a little dream... To bring incredibly delicious fresh fish to the more rural parts of New Hampshire in a unique and fun way. We had been raised north of Boston and grew up with fresh fish. Our grandfather worked for an ice company in Boston...lugging ice to the local fisheries in order to keep their product cold. Dad was a recreational tuna fisherman on his boat The Little Imp. Fried haddock dinners from the local fish monger were THE dinners we looked forward to Mom preparing.
When we moved from the outskirts of Boston to rural Monadnock Region of New Hampshire, we discovered the stunning scenery and the uber friendly members of the community. It was an idyllic place to live but where was the fish?!?!?
Our dream came true when we got our start at the Amherst, NH Farmers’ Market in 2005. Word quickly spread and we were blessed to be a part of additional farmers’ markets as well as start a home delivery service branch of Liberty Fish. We covered Amherst to Peterborough, Merrimack to Westford, and lots of spots in between.
In 2010, we stepped away from the business to focus on other endeavors that life brought our way but the sea kept a callin'! Liberty Fish is fortunate to have new opportunities to bring the business back in creative and innovative ways. Through a partnership with one Boston based premier importer/exporter of fresh seafood and shellfish who is located just minutes from the Boston Fish Pier and Logan International Airport, THE freshest seafood lands on your table just hours after leaving The Boston Seaport District.
In case you’re not quite yet sold on it… All fish is left whole until the morning we arrive. All cuts are then made by hand, and no preservatives are ever used.
